The Joplin Globe seeks an experienced, innovative and results-oriented advertising director.
The advertising director develops and executes marketing strategies across multiple platforms to maximize sales and enhance our market share. This person works with the publisher and department managers to ensure profitability by meeting revenue and expense targets. We expect a manager who quickly spots trends and adjusts to maximize gains or minimize losses.
Candidates should have a background in advertising management that includes budgeting and development of business strategy. We expect someone with a record of meeting revenue targets and effective expense management. Also essential are strong organizational, interpersonal and communication skills, and an emphasis on customer service.
The Joplin Globe is a 15,000-circulation, seven-day newspaper. In addition to the newspaper, we publish a community magazines, a niche publication and a robust website, www.joplinglobe.com.
Located in the Ozarks along Highway 44 and historic Route 66, Joplin is a great place to live and raise a family. The city is a regional hub with outstanding health care, local colleges and a brand new, state-of-the-art high school. In addition, it is home to professional baseball team Joplin Blasters and professional soccer team Joplin Demize. Grand Falls, Missouri’s largest continually-flowing waterfall, is the city’s most scenic destination.
