CNHI national editor David Joyner named executive editor of North of Boston Media Group and The North Andover Eagle-Tribune David Joyner--who had been vice president and national editor for Community Newspaper Holdings Inc., overseeing CNHI’s Washington and statehouse reporters—is the new executive editor of the North of Boston Media Group (NOB).
In this position, Joyner is overseeing all editorial operations for the group, including four dailies, four weeklies, 15 magazines and multiple digital platforms. All NOB top editors will report directly to Joyner, who will also oversee the editorial Design Hub.
Along with his NOB group duties, he will also become executive editor of The Eagle-Tribune in North Andover, Mass. Tracey Rauh will continue in her role as ET managing editor, running the day-to-day operations for the Eagle-Tribune, weeklies and magazines.
Before taking the national editor role, Joyner worked at CNHI headquarters in Montgomery, Ala., as its vice president of content, and also as the company’s executive news editor.
Joyner previously worked at NOB in senior roles, including including senior managing editor of the Eagle-Tribune; managing editor of The Salem News; editor of the Gloucester Daily Times; and NOB projects editor.
Joyner has been a fellow at the Nieman Foundation for Journalism at Harvard University, and holds a bachelor’s in political communication from George Washington University.
