Tina West, a 40-year veteran of the Indiana news industry, was named publisher of the Wabash Plain Dealer by Paxton Media Group.
“I am pleased to announce the appointment of Tina West to publisher of the Wabash Plain Dealer,” said David Holgate, group president of Paxton Media Group in Indiana and Michigan. “Tina brings a wealth of knowledge to this position and will be an asset to the paper and community.”
West was most recently publisher of Paxton Media’s Peru (Ind.) Tribune, and has served as publisher and vice president of sales and marketing for two other Paxton properties in Indiana, The Times in Noblesville and The Paper of Montgomery County in Crawfordsville.
She was recognized by the Indianapolis Colts as a community volunteer of the year for her service in New Castle and won a Community Quarterback Award in 2011.
A native of Noblesville, West began her newspaper career at the Anderson (Ind.) Herald after graduating from Ball State University. In 1987, the Herald was merged with its sister afternoon daily and became The Herald Bulletin.
