Fraser Nelson is vice president of business innovation, charged with leading The Salt Lake Tribune initiative to become a nonprofit organization. In May of 2019, the newspaper officially submitted its request to the IRS to be recognized as a nonprofit. She brings a background in nonprofits and foundations to the Tribune. She helped found and served as first CEO of The Community Foundation of Utah, a venture philanthropy fund that managed $45 million in assets during her tenure. She was Salt Lake City’s first director of data and innovation immediately before taking the Tribune position.
